Very bad service all around
I was charged $1900 because they decided to change my rate to 0.23200 per Kwh without my knowledge and now I am stuck with the bill they didnt try to help or resolve the issue and the representative was very unprofessional and talked nasty to me she told now that im not with them I wont have to worry about them anymore wow! After two years of service! Im am lost for words!

Scammers
Wants to charge me 50% more than comed. I cancelled with them over the phone. Was told I'd have a rate closer to 7¢ per kilowatt. Got the letter from them and it was 10¢. I cancelled with Smart energy. Funny he could bring my rate down to 9¢. Thieving people over the phone. Don't trust smart energy.

Liars!!!!!! Thieves!!!!! Scammers!!!!! Dishonest!!!!!! Worst customer service!!!!! Never received $200 visa rewards???? Was hounded to sign up and promised rewards $200 on visa. Never happened!!!! I called and said I already received rewards!!!! Then they said that I cancelled before my rewards. Which I never cancelled and so they cancelled without my authorization!!!! Scammers, thieves, liars!!!! Everyone that works with smart energy will get a nice reward from KARMA. Karma is a bitch and scammers pay the price if not in this life then in the next one

Scam by any other name...
Signed up in Dec 2021: agreed to use smartenergy for at least 6 months in return for a VISA $200 card. Cancelled after 6 months. August 2022 received letter with PIN instructios "Simply call us with your P.I.N. before your next billing cycle (or no later than Septemver 15th) at 1-800-815-1978. We look forward to sending your $200 Visa Gift Card." ROFLMAO! Called, told "you don't qualify until after you sign up for 6 months", "you only qualify for $100 and you have to sign up for 1 year", "there is no supervisor available now so you may get a call between 48-72 hours. The supervisor now is dealing with another customer" and best "you can report us to whatever agency you want to contact." I hope the 3 'customer service representatives' I spoke to have given their parents, mothers, partners, spiritual leaders, and god a good rationale for how they are scamming the general populous into believing the 'promise' of $200 visa credit after meeting their requirements. My bad: I 'ass'umed ComEd had more integrity than to be a partner in such a blatant scam. Or maybe ComEd was scammed as well. Slick sales pitch and accurate product delivery until the customer wants to cash in their chips. Meanwhile I am waiting for my (insert country here) prince to provide all the riches and luxury any woman could ever dream of!
